We are always looking forward to coffee with T-shaped people

For most of history, careers followed a fairly straightforward system: Find a thing. Get good at it. Keep doing it forever. But the world no longer works like that. AI is automating execution. A cola brand is selling sneakers. A payments app is a shopping platform. And yet, most organizations still expect people to think inside tidy little boxes. Not us.

You don’t need to master everything. But if you stretch just a little beyond your lane, everything in your lane gets sharper. A writer who understands UX knows when their message is landing at the wrong moment. A strategist who understands show business can predict why an idea will fail before anyone tests it. A designer who understands incentives won’t just make something beautiful; they’ll make something people actually use.

So that brings us to: who are T-Shaped people? They’re people who don’t just learn more. They connect the dots between things most people don’t even realize are related. And the funny thing is, you’re probably already doing this. Just not on purpose.

We didn't define it precisely when we started out, but Sideways was conceived to be built around and accommodate T-shaped individuals. And now, we’re doubling down. We want to be the best place in the world for T-Shaped problem solvers.
Not just a place where they are valued, but where they create disproportionate value. Where their ability to connect the dots gets sharper, not dull. That’s what we will obsess over.

So, if you're a writer, technologist, designer, strategist, business person, psychologist, economist or whatever it is that you do, and looking to be more than just your job and your designation, we hope you're reading this. Because, this is your home.

If you love thinking a bit Sideways,
give us a shout
